Bruce is one of the founders of ACA Lawyers. He has spent his 34 year career as a trusted advisor to governments, corporations and private clients on a range of diverse and complex issues including: public-private partnerships, environmental law, litigation, planning, and strategic reform. Bruce has extensive experience in helping government develop strategic partnerships, where he is known for his ability to steer a calm course through complex projects, meeting deadlines and expectations.
As an acting solicitor and barrister since 1976, Bruce gained extensive knowledge of government operations. During his time as senior advisor and acting chief of staff to NSW government minister, Carl Scully, Bruce’s involvement included structuring and overseeing major reform agendas. One of Bruce’s proudest achievements occurred at the time he achieved national professional liability reform during the wake of the HIH and Enron failures. He accomplished this as a representative on the Liability Reform Committee, implementing his consensus-building expertise.
While engaged at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young, Bruce held responsibility for Commonwealth and State Government national relationships. During Bruce’s time with PricewaterhouseCoopers, thanks to him, the firm’s capability in servicing government needs was recognised as market leading.
