Kate Martin

Kate has been admitted as a solicitor in the NSW Supreme Court and Federal Court of Australia since December 2010.  Her 10 years of experience in legal administration prior to her admission as a solicitor have been instrumental in giving Kate an edge in experience, particularly in practical considerations of costs and efficacy.

Since her admission, Kate has gained extensive experience in litigation with a focus on commercial dispute resolution, insurance law, debt recovery and general litigation.  Other areas of experience include defamation, insolvency, discrimination, building and construction disputes (including claims under the Building and Constructions Industry Security of Payment Act 1999), and claims under the Home Building Act 1989 and the Strata Schemes Management Act 1996.  Kate has also had the fairly unique experience of being involved in the facilitation of international enforcement of Supreme Court judgments on behalf of high-end corporate clients.

Kate also provides commercial advice with respect to liability, trading terms, privacy policies, credit applications and agreements and other contractual issues.  Her years of experience in a Sydney suburban office undertaking a generalist practice have provided a well-rounded and versatile set of skills which are easily transferrable making her an asset on all types of claims.

Kate is an active member of the NSW Law Society Injury Compensation Committee, the NSW Young Lawyers Civil Litigation Committee, and the Women Lawyers Association of NSW.
